The Skylark Centre was founded to respond to a need in Nicaragua for a place where local and international churches and Christian organizations can hold spiritual retreats. In addition the Centre is a safe, comfortable place for mission teams to stay and work if they chose to. Typically the Centre is used to host Men's and Women's retreats, Kids camps, pastor training and conferences. As well, our new Medical Facility is available for Medical Teams who serve in Nicaragua. The Skylark Centre is operated by Threefold Ministries for St. Andrew's Church in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada. Meals are prepared in Skylark's clean, modern kitchen. We feature both standard North American style meals as well as Nicaraguan fare.

Skylark's accommodation is dormitory style in our new, secure buildings. Comfortable bunk beds and clean, modern bathrooms ensure a comfortable stay.

As a Youth Camp location Skylark features a wide range of physical activity and sports opportunities. Our swimming pool is a popular spot for cooling off and also often doubles as a baptismal pool. Our multi use auditorium is used for basketball, indoor soccer and a host of other activities.

We also promote outdoor sports with our baseball diamond and beach volleyball court. All these facilities are in great demand in the sunny weather.

Latest Facility

The latest expansion of the Skylark Centre is the Medical Building which offers a number of features. This facility has a closed auditorium that comfortably seats 120 people and comes with its own sound system and projector. Also, the auditorium is easily converted into a medical facility that supports 8 clinic rooms with sinks, beds, tables and chairs. There is also a fully stocked pharmacy and basic medical equipment. In addition this building has 14 clean and bright motel style rooms, each for 2 people that come complete with storage for clothing, full bathroom and hot water. The Medical Building is available to Mission Teams, Medical Teams, Couple's Retreats and those looking for a comfortable meeting area.

The interior of our new facility is bright and clean. In addition to examining rooms there is a new pharmacy. In February 2009 a medical/vision/dental team in ten short days dispensed 400 pairs of glasses to 830 patients, filled 2600 prescriptions for 2300 patients and carried out many dental procedures.
